Lahore : Mela Chiraghan, festival of light marking the 421st annual Urs of Hazrat Shah Hussain (RA), commonly known as Madhu Lal Hussain who lived in Lahore in 16th century (1538-1599). Mela Chiraghan is one of the biggest Sufi Festivals held in Punjab.
The Festival of Lights, or Mela Chiraghan, is an important and popular event in Lahore. This is celebrated at the same time as Basant, People from all walks of life gather to participate. It is a rare event of whirling and dancing on the beats of drum.
